Borghetto and Custoza wine
Between the hills of Custoza and Borghetto, in the heart of tortellini there’s Custoza wine!
In this tour you can really enjoy the countryside of Verona, driving south west from Verona we’ll reach the hills of Custoza.
First stop is a winery in Custoza wine region, a small area where the typical wine is... Custoza! A white blend of local grapes, perfect for white wine lovers and to afford hot summer days.
Then we will drive through Valeggio sul Mincio, a little town with a beautiful medieval castle, to reach the picturesque hamlet of Borghetto. Here you will walk in the narrow streets and on the medieval bridge, and enjoy their stunning views on Mincio river. You will be told about the history of the town and about the legend that origins the so-called “Nodo d’amore” (literally, love knot), the local tortellini for which Valeggio is famous.
In Borghetto you will also have lunch, and you will have the chance to taste a typical local meal (tortellini included!). Ready for the second vineyard and wine tasting session? We will then say goodbye to the hills of Custoza and Borghetto and head back to the city.

the tour leader will wait for you maximum 15 minutes in case of late. We want you to spend a lovely day with no distress so, please, in booking our tours, inform us if you have limited mobility (in some old cellars there are stairs); or if you have any intolerance or allergy about food/wine (some tours are including appetizers in the cellar or lunch in local restaurant).
We ask you to inform us if you have any appointment after the tour (if you booked a train ticket, an opera show in Arena or a reservation for a restaurant), so we can do our best to respect the schedule.
In the cellar the temperature is constant 15 Celsius degrees (59 Fahrenheit), so we suggest to take with you a sweater or a jacket; if it is possible we will try to show you the vineyards, so it’s recommended to wear sneakers or comfortable shoes.
